abstract = "O presente trabalho estima o potencial de sequestro de carbono por
reflorestamento em tr{\^e}s categorias de {\'A}reas de
Preserva{\c{c}}{\~a}o Permanente (APPs), as quais s{\~a}o:
rios, nascentes e topo de morros no Munic{\'{\i}}pio de S{\~a}o
Luiz do Paraitinga. Este munic{\'{\i}}pio foi afetado por uma
enchente intensa na virada do ano 2009 para 2010 causando grandes
perdas econ{\^o}micas e de constru{\c{c}}{\~o}es
hist{\'o}ricas, danos que at{\'e} hoje s{\~a}o
vis{\'{\i}}veis. Para o mapeamento das APPs foram usados dados
topogr{\'a}ficos SRTM do modelo digital de Eleva{\c{c}}{\~a}o,
rede de drenagem e um mapa de uso do solo. Utilizando como
ferramenta o Sistema de Informa{\c{c}}{\~a}o Geogr{\'a}fica
(SIG), obteve-se uma {\'a}rea total dispon{\'{\i}}vel de APP
para reflorestamento de 3235,83 ha. Posteriormente foi realizado o
c{\'a}lculo de sequestro de carbono por mata nativa para as
tr{\^e}s categorias de APP mapeadas, usando o fator proposto pelo
IPCC para um horizonte de tempo de 20 anos, gerando um potencial
total de sequestro de 1.682.256,17 tCO\$_{2}\$/20 anos ou
454.209,17 tC/20 anos. Finalmente, estimou-se que o
munic{\'{\i}}pio geraria um lucro aproximado por tonelada de
carbono fixada de US\$ 1.734.619,8 em 20 anos de projeto.
ABSTRACT: This study estimates the potential carbon sequestration
through reforestation in three categories of Permanent
Preservation Area (PPA) which are: Rivers, Springs and Hill Top in
S{\~a}o Luiz do Paraitinga. This Municipality was affected by
intense floods at the turn of the year 2009 to 2010 leaving
economic and historical buildings lost, with damage visible up to
nowadays. In this study was used digital model SRTM topographic
data, drainage network and a map of land use, as the way to obtain
the map of the PPA. By using GIS as a tool, the total area
available for reforestation of PPA was of 3235.83 ha. It was later
realized the carbon sequestration calculation by native forest for
the three mapped PPA categories, using carbon sequestration factor
proposed by the IPCC and a time horizon of 20 years, generating a
total potential sequestration of 1.682.256,17 tCO\$_{2}\$/20
years or 454.209,17 tC/20 years. Finally it was estimated that the
city would generate an approximate profit per ton fixed carbon of
US \$ 1.734.619,80 for 20 year of the project.",
